A 63-year-old Breckenridge women died from injuries she sustained in a single car crash. The accident occurred on Sunday, April 24, 2017, at approximately 8:20 a.m. south of Breckenridge, Texas, on FM 576. The woman was driving southbound when her 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe “failed to negotiate a curve” on the farm to market road. The woman thus lost control of her vehicle and ran into the ditch. The woman attempted to compensate but then found herself in the opposite ditch which caused her vehicle to roll several times. The victim, unfortunately, was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident. She died on the scene and her body was taken to Melton Funeral Home in Breckenridge.

Wrongful Death
It is tragic that this woman lost her life in an auto accident. It is true that perhaps her life could have been saved if she had worn her seat belt. The problem, however, is that the vehicle failed to negotiate the turn, to begin with. It is not known at this point what caused the vehicle to fail to negotiate the turn. It could be due to tires being installed incorrectly. It may also be because the person that performed work on the car last did not properly tighten down the drivetrain or steering parts. It may even be faulty automotive parts led to the crash. Regardless, a woman lost her life for reasons that may have been out of her control.
